EARLY MORNING GLOBEX NET CHANGES: May corn is up 1/4 cents and May soybeans
are down 4 cents. May KC wheat is down 1/4 cents, May Chicago wheat is down 1/2
cents, and May Minneapolis wheat is down 2 1/2 cents.
CME GLOBEX RECAP: Thus far Wednesday, row crop markets are quiet with corn
and wheat markets treading near even, while soybean and soy product futures
slip lower. All three major crop markets appeared to find buying support
Tuesday, which allowed prices to close well off daily lows so Wednesday's trade
will be interesting to see if there is any follow-through from bullish traders.
Meanwhile, outside markets continue to work through concerns regarding tariffs
and slumping U.S. consumer confidence reported Tuesday morning which had
markets in a whirlwind as stock equities finished mixed with the Dow Jones
Industrial Average higher and the S&P lower, with both finishing well off
intraday lows. Due Wednesday for reports is the Energy Information
Administration's (EIA) weekly Petroleum Status Report which includes ethanol
production which will offer the latest clue into what has been strong corn
usage for ethanol thus far through the 2024/25 marketing year.
OUTSIDE MARKETS: Previous closes Tuesday showed the Dow Jones Industrial
Average up 159.95 to 43,621.16 and the S&P 500 Index down 28.00 at 5,955.25.
The 10-Year Treasury yield ended at 4.30%. Early Wednesday, March Dow Jones
futures are up 132 points. European markets are mostly higher with the spot
futures of the London FTSE 100 trading up 0.57%, spot futures of Germany's DAX
trading up 1.38% and spot futures of France's CAC Index trading down 0.51%.
